Lytron's products are compliant with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive and we are waiting for legislation to clarify the Waste, Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive.
We have successfully converted all of the standard component products including OEM coils, 6000, Aspen, 4000, and ES oil cooler heat exchangers as well as our standard cold plates to RoHS compliant materials. Our system products are exempt from RoHS because they are used as control instruments, WEEE category 9.
The second directive, Waste, Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) only applies to Lytron's cooling systems products; our cold plates and heat exchangers are exempt as they are not electrical. From August 13, 2005, all of Lytron's cooling system products will be labeled with the "Crossed Wheelie Bin " symbol. We will provide direction on our collection scheme as the legislation is clarified.
Both initiatives continue to be clarified by the EU legislature. We will stay abreast of the latest RoHS and WEEE developments and will continue to support our customers in their compliance efforts. We will periodically post updates on our compliance program in the technical support section of our website.
