Liquid-cooled chassis are aluminum vacuum-brazed card boxes with exceptionally high performance.

Liquid-Cooled Chassis

Liquid-cooled chassis, also known as air transport racks (ATR), are used in military and aerospace applications and other high performance applications because they offer excellent heat transfer in a lightweight package. All of Lytron's liquid-cooled chassis are custom designed to meet customers' requirements and/or industry standard interfaces. They are precisely engineered to match your thermal and mechanical performance, pressure drop, and dimensional requirements. In addition, the liquid-cooled chassis can accommodate a variety of fluids and are available in a number of finishes including Mil-Spec coatings and paints.

Superior performance: The liquid-cooled chassis is manufactured from individual cold plates that have corrugated aluminum fin brazed into the vacuum-brazed sidewalls. This internal fin creates additional surface area for heat transfer and creates turbulence in the fluid to optimize performance.

Lightweight: The all-aluminum construction of the liquid-cooled chassis offers excellent performance/weight ratio.

Design flexibility: Since all of Lytron's liquid-cooled chassis are custom designed, we can supply you with the most efficient, compact, and lightweight part possible. The inlet and outlet locations and types, the fluid path, and the slot widths and configurations are all custom designed to your specifications.

High reliability: The liquid-cooled chassis are vacuum-brazed in an environmentally controlled room for maximum reliability. Also, with our numerically controlled vacuum brazing process and robust fixture designs, we can maintain very tight tolerances and ensure complete metallurgical bonding between the fins and sidewalls of the chassis. This guarantees ruggedness and leak-free operation.

Custom testing/certification: All products can be tested in Lytron's laboratories. Lytron's testing capabilities include pressure drop testing, proof pressure testing, and complete shock and vibration testing.
