Liquid
Cooling a Laser for System
Optimization
The performance of high-powered lasers
depends on
effective cooling. High-powered lasers generate a
significant amount of heat that must be removed from the
laser system to avoid overheating of critical
components. | | |
|
Carbon
dioxide (CO2) lasers, excimer lasers, ion lasers, and
solid-state lasers all use liquid cooling to remove
excess heat. Liquid cooling can help accomplish three
goals: maintaining a precise laser wavelength and higher
output efficiency, achieving desired beam quality, and
reducing thermal stress on your laser system.
Recirculating chillers, liquid-to-liquid cooling
systems, ambient cooling systems, cold plates, and heat
exchangers are a few of the cooling technologies used in
laser systems’ liquid cooling loops... Full

Liquid Cooling Class for Engineers
1-Day Class & Lytron Factory
Tour
October 4,
2007 Woburn, MA, USA
Lytron is sponsoring a 1-day liquid
cooling class and factory tour on Thursday, October
4th in Woburn, Massachusetts. The class,
taught by Dr. Cathy Biber of Biber Thermal Design, will
be a comprehensive introduction to liquid cooling and provide
practical tips for integrating liquid cooling into your
applications. The class draws on
Lytron's 49 years of experience in designing and
manufacturing liquid cooling system solutions for OEMs and
end-users, as well as Dr. Cathy Biber's nearly 20 years of
industry experience in thermal management.
