Standard CP20 cold plates consist of header tubes welded to a unique micro-channel aluminum extrusion.
The CP20 cold plate is a compact and lightweight aluminum cold plate, consisting of header tubes welded to a unique micro-channel extrusion. Its high performance and small size makes it ideal for cooling small, high watt-density components.
Extremely high performance: The CP20 cold plate’s extremely low thermal resistance is achieved by the thin mounting surface and internal fin, which creates a large surface area, 12 in² (77 cm²)/linear inch of tube, for heat transfer. Coolant flows below the entire cold plate surface, offering excellent thermal uniformity.
Very thin and lightweight: At only 0.13” (3.3 mm) thick and 0.1 lbs (0.05 kg), the CP20 cold plate is ideal for applications where space is limited.
Ideal for use with EGW, oils etc.: The CP20 cold plate’s large internal surface area combined with its low pressure drop makes it ideal for use with viscous and poor heat transfer fluids such as ethylene glycol/water (EGW), oils, Fluorinert®, and polyalphaolefin (PAO).
Very low pressure drop: The laminar flow induced by the parallel internal fins results in an extremely low pressure drop—less than 2 psi at 0.5 gpm with 30% EGW coolant.
Standard cold plates can be purchased from our distributors. Lytron also accepts standard cold plate orders from OEMs for 10 or more cold plates and/or for prototyping purposes.
