Aluminum vacuum-brazed cold plate technologies offer virtually unlimited customization opportunities.

Vacuum-brazed cold plates are engineered to match your performance, pressure drop, and dimensional requirements. The cold plates can be manufactured in virtually any size and shape, and surface machining and drillable areas can be added. The inside of the cold plate is also customized. Lytron manufactures over 30 different types of internal fin to precisely match the cold plate’s fluid path to the thermal requirements of the application.

All steps in the manufacturing process are carried out in-house including interior and exterior machining, fin forming, fin cutting, vacuum brazing, and heat treating. Vacuum-brazed cold plates are assembled in an environmentally controlled room for maximum cleanliness and quality. Our numerically controlled brazing process and robust fixture designs ensure outstanding metal joining for unrivaled strength and reliability.

Lytron produced a lightweight, ultra-thin (0.15”/4mm) vacuum-brazed cold plate for an aerospace  application. We can produce cold plates in a variety of sizes and innumerable configurations to meet application specific requirements.

Lytron designed and manufactured a large, vacuum-brazed cold plate assembly for one of its customers. We also added fittings and hoses. This value-added assembly simplified the customer’s system integration.

Lytron added fittings and hoses to a vacuum-brazed cold plate with custom machining. We can also add components such as manifolds and quick disconnects, or incorporate sensors, controllers, and other accessories into the design.
