Lytron Increases Machining Capacity for Cold Plates & Chassis

August 25, 2011, Woburn, MA, USA: Lytron announced today that it has purchased additional Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs) to increase capacity in its Woburn, Massachusetts factory. The new HMCs will be used to machine high volumes of aluminum cold plates and liquid-cooled chassis for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Lytron plans to have its new machining centers installed and running by early 2012.

"We’re excited about the purchase of the new HMCs, as they will not only increase capacity but will also improve our ability to consistently produce the highest quality cold plates and chassis for OEMs," notes Kathleen Schoonmaker, Lytron’s vice president of operations. “In addition, the HMCs will allow us to operate more efficiently, ultimately resulting in shorter lead times as well as cost savings that can be passed along to our customers.”

Lytron continuously invests in equipment, technology, people, and processes to improve operations. The company designs and manufactures chillers, cooling systems, cold plates, heat exchangers, and value-added assemblies for OEMs primarily in the medical, aerospace, military, power generation, traction, laser, semiconductor, analytical instrument, and data center markets.
