Lytron Opens Japanese Service Depot

August 12, 2003, WOBURN, MA - Lytron Inc., the Total Thermal Solutions ™ Company, has partnered with Alpha Electronics Corporation, a leading distributor and service company, to open a new Lytron Asian Service Depot in Hatogaya City, Japan. Effective immediately, this depot will service Lytron's system products, Kodiak® recirculating chillers, large capacity chillers, and modular cooling systems, across the Pacific Rim. The new service center will

  • Offer faster-turn around time on depot repairs,
  • Eliminate the cost and time required to return units to the factory for maintenance or repair, and
  • Provide local expertise on Lytron products.

Alpha Electronics Corporation has been servicing several of Lytron's chiller customers for 4 years so their technicians have experience working with these units. Alpha will also provide on-site service in Japan, as necessary. Lytron's customers can expect a maximum 48-hour turn around time on depot repairs. Additionally, Lytron spare parts will be warehoused in Japan for fast Asian distribution, further reducing customer down-time. Customers should continue to contact Lytron in case of an Asian service event. Lytron service engineers will contact Alpha as necessary and coordinate service calls.

Tom Eytel, Lytron's Manager of Customer Services, said, " Last fall, we committed to establishing a World-Class Service Operation dedicated to responding to our customers' service and support needs. Already we have launched Service Centers in Germany and Japan to support our European and Asian customers. Currently we are establishing our Canadian and Australian service operation to round out our international service presence. Our service organization will further differentiate our recirculating chillers."

Jun Yoshino, President of Alpha Electronics, said, "Alpha is pleased to have partnered with Lytron. We have been working with them for several years and our experience confirms that Lytron is the leading recirculating chiller manufacturer."
