Lytron Expands Manufacturing Capacity with New Machining Center
September 24, 2001, Woburn, MA - Lytron, the Total Thermal Solutions™ company, announces the addition of a new Matsuura RA-2G high speed CNC machining center to the company's ISO 9001-registered manufacturing facility. As more and more applications require liquid cooling, Lytron has increased its manufacturing capacity to meet the demand for precision, high-performance cold plates.
Cold plates are used in a wide variety of applications where compact geometries and increasing power densities require high-performance contact cooling. Cold plates from Lytron cool many types of equipment in many different industries, including lasers, high-powered electronics, semiconductor processing, and telecommunications.
"As the power density of electronics has increased, we have seen significant growth in contact cooling applications," says Charlie Carswell, President of Lytron. "We use three different cold plate technologies and in most cases machine the plates to customize them to their particular applications. Lytron purchased this machining center to maintain our leadership in contact cooling as well as to ensure continued superior quality and on-time delivery of cold plates."
Lytron designs and manufactures standard and custom cold plates using three different technologies: the proprietary Press-LockTM series, the Extended SurfaceTM series and the High PerformanceTM series, each adapted to a different cooling challenge. Lytron's economical Press-Lock cold plates are compatible with most cooling fluids, including water, and can be drilled and tapped for easy mounting. Designed for aqueous solutions, such as EGW and nonaqueous applications, the Extended Surface cold plates use aluminum micro-channels to achieve low thermal resistance and uniform surface temperature. Lytron's High Performance Series is recommended for applications that use EGW and nonaqueous solutions and that require drilling and tapping.
Lytron is the only Total Thermal Solutions provider that is ISO 9001 registered. ISO certification assures users that Lytron's liquid-cooling products are defect free and able to provide years of reliable, leak-tight service. For over forty years, Lytron has been well known in the industry for consistent high quality and on-time delivery. The new machining center is part of Lytron's commitment to continuing this tradition.
Lytron designs, develops and manufactures high performance heat transfer systems and components. In addition to cold plates, its products include recirculating chillers, compact non-refrigerated cooling systems, aluminum oil coolers, copper tube-fin heat exchangers, stainless steel tube-fin heat exchangers, compact brazed-plate heat exchangers, and economical OEM coils.
