Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary:

Exciting opportunity to join a fast paced team to develop new cooling systems for the medical, semiconductor and industrial markets. Primary responsibilities include leading product design teams, designing refrigeration and mechanical pumping systems, component analysis, creating mechanical schematics and support of manufacturing functions. The Senior Project Engineer will work with Manufacturing Engineering to assist in testing and performing root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage project teams for new product development.
  2. Research, design, and direct all efforts relative to the refrigeration/mechanical requirements of products, as well as test and manufacturing equipment.
  3. Generate and maintain refrigeration/mechanical designs for chillers and heat exchangers including schematics, mechanical systems layout and CAD drawings.
  4. Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, test, troubleshooting and service personnel.
  5. Develop and execute verification testing methodology for all systems, subsystems and components. Establish manufacturing readiness by ensuring all mechanical systems function as designed during the build/test cycles.
  6. Root cause mechanical, refrigeration and electrical issues for products.
  7. Develop technical solutions and costs for quoting new products.
  8. Communicate effectively with engineering, suppliers, salespeople, manufacturing and other departments.
  9. All other duties as assigned.
  10. Must be able to work extended hours when required.

Minimum Education, Experience, and/or Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSME or equivalent) required. Master’s degree (MSME) preferred.
  • Project management experience, leading cross-functional product development teams.
  • Refrigeration systems experience (5 years minimum),
  • Mechanical systems experience (5 years minimum) with fluid pumping systems.

Preferred Education, Experience and/or Skills 

  • Solidworks
  • Electrical systems experience
  • Cascade refrigeration experience
  • Heat Exchanger design and sizing
  • Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Software User
  • PPAP Skills, FMEA, and Reliability Predictions/Analysis
