Senior CNC Programmer

Lytron designs and manufactures aluminum vacuum brazed cold plates and heat exchangers used in mission critical industries. We are seeking a senior level CNC programmer to support our CNC machine shop in the machining of our aluminum cold plate and heat exchanger product.

The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter with good communication skills who can support a CNC machine shop team for new product and repeat production product; focusing on reducing cost, improving quality and increasing throughput. This candidate must have experience with both horizontal and vertical machining centers, experience in complex work holding designs using Solid Works, experience with MasterCam X9 and experience developing and writing probing routines. This position reports to the Machining Process Engineer.

Responsibilities include;

  • Participating on design teams of new product to design for manufacturability.
  • Writing CNC programs and producing detail setup sheet documentation; including a “FOD free” plan to protect the internal fluid passages of our product as well as the air side fin of our heat exchanger product.
  • Providing work holding tooling and fixture designs to support the necessary setups.
  • Participating in program prove out for error checking and run time reduction.
  • Conducting post program prove out audits to capture actual set up and machine run times for entry into our MRP system.

Minimum requirements;

  • 15 - 20 years of CNC programming in a production-manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years minimum experience in programming horizontal machining centers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus.
  • Experience in MRP II, ISO9001 & AS9100.
  • Experience with Solid Works required. Experience with Vericut is a plus.
