Advanced Quality Planning Engineer

Reporting to the Quality Manager will be responsible for working with engineering design teams to develop inspection processes, gages, operational procedures and documentation with a focus on advanced quality planning. The successful candidate will work with factory management in a leadership role in all phases of quality and production improvement projects including implementing process control strategies, performing gage capability assessments, developing electronic data collection, and providing training and certification for cell based inspection activities. Working with customers and suppliers, the AQP engineer will be responsible for understanding critical features of the product and work to establish control plans to meet out going quality requirements. Some travel to supplier and customer sites will be expected.

Requirements include a four-year degree in a statistical /engineering discipline coupled with 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and have experience working with a Quality Management System such as AS9100 or ISO/TS 16949. Direct experience in Statistical Techniques, Design of Experiments (DOE) along with a fully loaded 6 sigma toolbox is considered a minimum requirement for this position. Black belt certification or an equivalent ASQ certification is desired. The candidate must have experience in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance standards along with a strong background in metrology including CMM programming.

Knowledge of vacuum brazing and/or GTAW welding is an advantage. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
